This year we will be hosting an event on December 9th at 7pm. This vent will be The Polar Express. Based on the book/movie of the same name this will be a chance to have your kids enjoy some holiday goodness, a great story, singing, and treats. We are looking for people you would like to donate time to help us pull off this great event. If you are interested please call 435-753-9008 or email me at director@whittiercenter.org
For those of you wondering I am sick and will not be in the office until Thursday. The cold weather got me. I hope you guys are doing well now that winter (that’s winner if you are from Utah*) has arrived in Cache Valley. Despite the cold we are still having events at the Whittier every night. Last night I had to come in for an emergency and there was a huge crowd for the Salsa Dancing (done every Tuesday by Free Style Dance) and a large belly dance troupe upstairs (classes run by Shimmering Sands Middle Eastern Dance). So despite the flu and the cold the Whittier is still rocking.
I noted in an earlier blog post that I’d like to change the Banner seasonally. Right now it is showing Logan Canyon with a splash of fall colors. Should it stay or should it change to the snow background?

* Ever notice how the northern Utah dialect drops the T from words. Winner instead of WinTer, Mounain instead of MounTain, Manawey instead of Man too ua (Mantua**). Check it out on your friends!
** yes yes I know that the town is named after the birthplace of Eliza and Lorenzo Snow in Ohio and not the town in Italy. I also know that Mantua (UT/OH) is named after a Shawnee chief and is pronounced different but the historian in me shudders every time it is pronounced the Shawnee and not the Italian way.
