For those of you wondering I am sick and will not be in the office until Thursday. The cold weather got me. I hope you guys are doing well now that winter (that’s winner if you are from Utah*) has arrived in Cache Valley. Despite the cold we are still having events at the Whittier every night. Last night I had to come in for an emergency and there was a huge crowd for the Salsa Dancing (done every Tuesday by Free Style Dance) and a large belly dance troupe upstairs (classes run by Shimmering Sands Middle Eastern Dance). So despite the flu and the cold the Whittier is still rocking.
I noted in an earlier blog post that I’d like to change the Banner seasonally. Right now it is showing Logan Canyon with a splash of fall colors. Should it stay or should it change to the snow background?

* Ever notice how the northern Utah dialect drops the T from words. Winner instead of WinTer, Mounain instead of MounTain, Manawey instead of Man too ua (Mantua**). Check it out on your friends!
** yes yes I know that the town is named after the birthplace of Eliza and Lorenzo Snow in Ohio and not the town in Italy. I also know that Mantua (UT/OH) is named after a Shawnee chief and is pronounced different but the historian in me shudders every time it is pronounced the Shawnee and not the Italian way.

Don’t forget the 81st Annual Halloween Festival this year. The event will take place from 3-6 PM on Halloween (this coming Monday). Thanks to all the volunteers you have or will help out. I’ll give you a proper shout out after the event and when my head stops spinning! This activity will be fun for kids of all ages.
Also I’d like to thank Boyd at Square One Printing as well as all our sponsors for helping provide so much for this event. Here’s the flyer Boyd did and it looks fantastic!

I’ve heard some people say they miss the old building picture and I’ll have admit I do too. I couldn’t get it to work right and having it cropped or put in funny just didn’t do it justice. I am continuing to work on the website and I will get that picture back. For now I will be having the top picture be something from Cache Valley on rotating cycle. Now its Logan Canyon in fall which is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
For those missing the picture, here it is
